Hello Cardano community,
At the Cardano Foundation, we recognize the fantastic work our community does, especially those who are diligently building and exploring what Cardano has to offer at this early stage in our development.
As a decentralized protocol, much of the innovation and applications which emerge as Cardano transitions into Goguen will come from you—our ecosystem participants. As a result, the Cardano Foundation is pleased to bring you the second installment of our monthly Cardano Community Developer Spotlight blog, recognizing our diverse and dedicated community.
Each month, the Foundation will be selecting a couple of interesting community-led projects to discover and share with our wider ecosystem. We hope this will encourage those who are already building solutions on Cardano to keep moving forward, while also helping to inspire those thinking of building on Cardano to get started and collaborate.
So, let’s check out who and what is under the spotlight in January 2021.
1. ADATools.io 580 - Cardano Holograms
In the spotlight this month is ADATools.io 168, and specifically its Cardano Network Hologram feature. ADATools.io 580 is a website and pool explorer dedicated to tracking and aggregating staking and delegation data, blocks and transactions, and providing staking calculators for Cardano users.
ADATools.io 580 has a very interesting feature that we think really helps visualize where Cardano stake pools are located across the globe. Called the ‘Network Hologram 49’, ADATool’s interactive 3D holo-globe lets users explore pool locations and sizes, as well as showing the number of active pools and relays worldwide.
If you are looking for an easy way to explore and visualize data on the Cardano blockchain, then ADATools.io 580 is a good place to start. Thank you, ADATools.io 580 for your efforts, keep building!
2. Pool.pm 361
The next on our radar this month is Pool.pm 361, a fun way to visualize transactions happening on the Cardano blockchain in real-time. Pool.pm uses images of dolphins, whales, and sharks to show how large transactions are, with the largest on-chain transactions represented as humpback whales.
Pool.pm also shows movements to and from public stake pools alongside pool tickers, as well as transactions from major Cardano ecosystem entities.
For developers and interested parties who want to track flows of ada (₳) in real-time, Pool.pm is a great resource. Thank you, Pool.pm for your efforts, keep building!
You can follow Pool.pm on Twitter here 59.
How are projects selected?
The Cardano Foundation keeps a close eye on the development of its ecosystem, and we are always pleased to see new innovators exploring our technology.
We choose our spotlight at random. The Cardano Foundation does not have any degree of bias for any particular project, nor do we select according to the size or scope of the project. Stake pools and general ecosystem-news podcasts are not included, but anyone building unique solutions on Cardano can be selected for our community spotlight.
Naturally, you have to start building to be selected—if you are wondering where to start, why not sign-up to our Developer Portal waiting list 68? We will send you exclusive developer-focused content, and you will be among the first to know when new components come online.
A huge thank you to this month’s spotlight projects for their efforts. Please stay tuned for next month’s Community Spotlight.
