Premier League begins conducting secret video technology trials [Telegraph]
The Telegraph reported that secret video technology trials have been taking place during Premier League matches this season. The tests involve two video officials, watching live feeds of games and practising how they might intervene were they in communication with the match referee. This technology could herald the advent of live video referrals in English football as early as next season. This could limit incidents involving goals, penalties, red cards and cases of mistaken identity.
Google’s AI is really good at Pictionary [Wired]
We must admit, we took quite a bit of time out fo the day playing Pictionary with Google’s AI! In Quick Draw, you are asked to draw something within 20 seconds, and Google’s AI will attempt to guess what you are drawing. The brilliance is seeing the technology in action, as you see the AI guessing as you are drawing, up until the point it realises what you’ve drawn. Afterwards, you can click on your images and see how the AI guessed what you drew, by comparing it to what other people drew. If you’ve got a couple of hours spare today, have a go!
