Zondax and the Web3 Foundation will bring more native Ledger apps to the Polkadot ecosystem. All winners of Polkadot parachain auction slots will receive a customary Ledger application to expand their appeal and convenience. After two years of ongoing success, the Web3 Foundation intends to take Polkadot to the next level.

The collaboration between Zondax and the Web3 Foundation marks a crucial milestone for the Polkadot ecosystem. The initial version of this ecosystem saw the light of day in May 2022 and today celebrates two years of success and growth. As a result, the Web3 Foundation deems it appropriate to have all Polkadot parachain auction slot winners receive a native application for the Ledger hardware wallet.

The Foundation taps Zondax for this purpose, as the Swiss company has a solid track record. Zondax has built several dozen native Ledger applications for various projects. Additionally, the company develops innovative end-to-end software solutions used by multiple exchanges, hardware wallets, privacy coins, and DeFi protocols. Zondax is widely considered the most reliable partner for Ledger app development.

Parachain project Centrifuge’s CEO Lucas Vogelsang comments:

“Zondax is a leader in developing Ledger apps, and we’re excited to benefit from their extensive experience. Wallet security is extremely important to us, and the Centrifuge Ledger app lets users securely receive, hold, and send Centrifuge (CFG). We’re also thrilled that Centrifuge secured a parachain slot on Polkadot. For the last 12 months, we’ve been laser-focused on a roadmap to bring real-world assets to the Polkadot ecosystem. With this next stage of our growth journey, Centrifuge can expand the entire DeFi industry by bringing millions of assets to Polkadot – all with lightning-fast transaction speeds.”

The collaboration between Zondax and the Web3 Foundation dates back to the first five auction-winning parachains being announced. Those projects – Acala, Moonbeam Parallel, Astar, and Clover – paved the way for other projects to compete for parachain slots. As part of the package, Zondax will offer Basic, Standard, and Custom software development packages. All Polkadot auction winners will receive the Basic package for free, with upgrades available on request.

Strong Momentum For Polkadot

The growing interest in parachain auctions showcases the momentum behind Polkadot. It is a versatile network where every parachain is linked to the Polkadot Relay Chain. As a result, all parachains can interact with each other, enabling a multi-chain feature. Moreover, every parachain is an individual blockchain serving a particular project or protocol.

Zondax Founder Juan Leni comments:

“Zondax has been building innovative software solutions and offering professional services to blockchain pioneers. We contribute to the Web 3.0 backbone, a decentralized and fair internet where users control their own data, identity and destiny. The Web3 Foundation has been building an entire ecosystem to make the passion of delivering Web 3.0 a reality. Thus, I am very excited to see Zondax and Web3 joining hands and creating a Web 3.0 future together as our values align well. I believe this exclusive collaboration will mark yet another milestone in interconnected blockchain technology, leading us to the dawn of a future parachain ecosystem. As envisioned in the Polkadot paper, together, we are searching for a system capable of achieving global-commerce levels of scalability and privacy.”

Polkadot is at the center of Web3 development and nurturing innovative applications for decentralized web software protocols. The network will consist of 100 parachains, and various projects compete for a parachain slot through the native auction system. Through the parachain architecture, Polkadot is the next frontier to enable interoperability between various chains – potentially with different consensus mechanisms – in a full decentralized environment.
