Connectivity and personal identification issues are still heavily restricted in most African countries. A very large number of citizens still lack proper personal identification documentation and have no access to financial services or products. This limitation affects countless daily transactions and limits the way people interact with their governments, services, or even with each other.
The way 3air sets out to tackle these issues is through a blockchain-based, ISP management system with integrated proven security, transparency, and low fees that, paired with K3 Telecom’s proprietary high-speed broadband internet solution, has the power to become the future of African broadband and revolutionize the telecom sector.
With K3’s Last Mile solution, a patented wireless broadband data transfer technology, it will be possible to supply broadband internet, digital TV, and IP telephony with throughput and performance equaling those of cable networks, in areas where laying cables is simply not viable. The project is already in the pilot phase in Sierra Leone, with plans to expand to 12 other African countries in the future.
The creation of infrastructures that allow access to high-speed, reliable, and affordable internet connection is only the first step, however. 3air sees the African continent as a market with tremendous growth potential and an environment where its community-driven blockchain platform will make a significant impact.
With time, the 3air ecosystem aims to develop into a comprehensive all-in-one solution for connectivity, identification, payments, and much more.
With the Digital Identities feature, the 3air platform sets out to provide a trustless, secure, and private solution to the current limitation which is the lack of proper identification or provable records in so many African communities. This feature can have a massive impact on the way users access a wide range of services such as finance, education or health, besides making KYC processes much quicker and smoother for both clients and services.
As for payments, 3air has conceived a Bankless Payment system based on the 3air Token in which the 3air platform acts as the trusted, secure intermediary that connects users to services. Designed to make payments seamless while driving the adoption of the platform’s native token, this solution gains a special relevance when considering that around 60% of the African population is still unbanked. Furthermore, the 3air platform will include a Rewards & Loyalty program to incentivize token usage and a Referral system that, with increased usage, can improve market trust and tracking, while helping mitigate fraud, legal disputes, or payment delays.
The vision behind the 3air ecosystem is ambitious, and the goal of creating new solutions to systemic socio-economic issues isn’t one that can be expected to be achieved overnight. 3air is a long-term, multi-phased project that sets out to invest in solutions that can change millions of lives and boost the collective development of entire communities around the African continent.
