Taiko is a decentralized Ethereum-equivalent ZK-EVM and general-purpose ZK-Rollup. Its purpose is to allow developers and users of dApps developed for Ethereum L1 to be used on Taiko without any changes. As a result, dApps can be easily deployed to L2, inheriting Ethereum's security while incurring lower transaction fees than on L1.

Taiko doesn’t have its own token yet but has confirmed to launch its own token called “TKO”. Early users who have done testnet actions may get an airdrop when they launch their token.

Step-by-Step Guide:
  1. Visit the Taiko testnet page.
  2. Connect your Metamask wallet.
  3. Now add Ethereum A1 and Taiko A1 networks to Metamask.
  4. Visit the faucet page of Ethereum A1 and Taiko A1 and request ETH.
  5. Go back to the testnet page and bridge ETH from Ethereum A1 to Taiko A1 and vice versa.
  6. Select “HORSE” token from the dropdown and click on “faucet” to mint the token and then bridge “HORSE” between Ethereum A1 and Taiko A1.
  7. Also, transfer tokens between wallets and try to submit feedback.
  8. Users will earn a POAP for completing multiple tasks on test net.
  9. For more information regarding the test net, see this page.
  10. Please note that there is no guarantee that they will do an airdrop. It’s only speculation.
