Now that we can all forget about boring January and the business of being healthy, we can get back to eating great food – here’s our round up of 5 of the best events happening in Manchester in February…
1. Manchester Food Walks’ NQ Taster – 14/02
The Northern Quarter’s known for being the epicentre of Manchester’s independent food and arts scene and there’s no better way to get under the skin of the area than with a tour that takes in the history, graffiti and of course – the food. Tickets are £30, book here
2. Splendid Kitchen’s Bangers and Laughs – 17/02
Manchester’s hot dog and burger aficionados, Splendid Kitchen, are serving up their Northern take on American soul food with a side of laughter on February 17th. Four comedians are taking to the stage for the evening, with compere Lewis Charlesworth leading the pack. The last event sold out, so get your ticket here now, from £12.
3. Season’s Eatings supper club – 25/02
Chef duo Suzy and Issy have been holding their monthly supper clubs – Season’s Eatings – across Manchester for a while now, and they’ve steadily grown a strong following.
As their name suggests, their carefully thought-out menus combine seasonal produce sourced locally, with inventive pairings like venison with coffee, parsnip and orange, and leek with seaweed and potato.
Catch their next event at Kosmonaut in the Northern Quarter on February 25th. Tickets cost £30 and are likely to sell out fast, book here.
4. YAKUMAMA Latin American supper club – 27/02
Street foodies YAKUMAMA are bringing ‘big flavour and big love’ to the Post Box in Chorlton at the end of February. This is actually a second supper club date that’s just been added, because the first sold out so quickly.
As well as four courses of Latin American-inspired food, there’ll be live jazz music on the night and cocktails inspired by the region. Tickets from £25, book here.
5. Urban Food Fest – 28/02
London’s popular Urban Food Fest is coming to Manchester for the first time this month. Every Saturday night from February 28th, 15 street food trucks and stalls will be setting up in a car park just off Deansgate and serving up culinary wonders from across the globe.
The event has drummed up serious interest across the Capital, including being nominated for Best Street Food Event at the Street Food Awards and labelled Number 1 on Time Out London’s hot list, so we’re well pleased to see the event coming to Manchester. Tickets are free, get yours here.
