California Casualty was founded in 1914 as a customer-owned company offering workers’ compensation insurance to California’s new and growing industries. In 1917, it began offering auto insurance, followed by home insurance two decades later.

In 1951, the company pioneered what’s now become an industry trend of affinity insurance programs when it received the endorsement of the California Teachers Association (CTA) to provide auto and home insurance to its members. Nearly 60 years later, it is still serving CTA members and has expanded nationally with over 100 other endorsements including the National Education Association; many police, state trooper, and firefighter associations; and universities and medical centers.

California Casualty has a broad range of auto insurance coverage types such as liability coverages, medical payment coverage, comprehensive and collision coverage, uninsured and underinsured coverage, towing and labor, optional limits transportation, auto loan / lease coverage and excess electrical equipment coverage.  In addition to those coverage options, California Casualty also offers insurance for classics, antiques, snowmobiles, RV’s, golf cars and other such outdoor recreational vehicles.
