Term life insurance provides financial protection for families or businesses in the event of the insured’s death. Most financial advisors recommend term life as the most economical protection. Term life insurance options include:

• Level term life — death benefit and premium are guaranteed to remain level for the entire policy term. The customer can cancel at any time without penalty and the insurance company cannot cancel the policy as long as the premiums are paid. At the end of its term, coverage either stops or can be continued at increased premiums.
• Return of premium term life (ROP) — offers a return of premium payments at the end of the policy period selected (usually 15, 20 or 30 years), assuming the policy is still in force. The amount returned is equal to the sum of the premiums paid for the base plan of insurance and does not include any premiums paid for riders and/or sub-standard premiums.
