Horace Mann Educators Corporation was founded in Springfield, Ill., in 1945. Originally named the IEA (Illinois Education Association) Mutual Insurance Company, Horace Mann was established by two teachers who saw a need for providing auto insurance for their association members.
Today, Horace Mann is the largest multi-line insurance company, focusing on the nation’s educators and their families with more than $4 billion in assets. Horace Mann offers retirement annuities, automobile, homeowner, group and life insurance to its policyholders.
Horace Mann Health Insurance says
Horace Mann’s long-term care insurance provides medical and support services for those who have lost some or all capacity to function on their own due to a chronic illness or condition, and who are expected to need such services over a prolonged period of time. Its long-term care insurance consists of care in the home, adult day health care, care in assisted living or skilled nursing facilities.
