One of the great features on Eventbrite is the ability to change your event URL.

But why would you need to change it in the first place?

Well, when you create your event page, your event URL will include the name of your event in it. However, for marketing materials, your event name may not be the right fit for a URL. This may because it is too long, or unmemorable.

A great URL is something short, sweet and to the point. So if you’re hosting a 2016 summer party for example, why not make it simple by changing the event URL to ‘EventbriteSummerParty2016’

With this event URL people will know exactly what your event is, but more importantly, people will be able to remember it.

If you will be sharing your event URL on different marketing materials, people will be able to see the URL and remember it straight away. If the URL is too long, people may forget what the URL is and then may never remember to actually try and find your event to buy a ticket for it.

For social media posts, a short event URL will keep your post nice and short, it will give a direct call to action, and will also allow people to see exactly where they will be clicking through to when clicking on the link, something that a URL shortener wouldn’t necessarily do.

How to customise your event URL

So now you’re wondering how you go about changing your event URL.

Head to your event’s Manage page and scroll to “Your Event URL” in the Event Dashboard section to get started with customising your event URL.

Your event URL is located in the middle of the Event Dashboard. Select Edit to amend your URL.
