Morning Meditation

Originally planned for Thursday, this morning meditation class was moved to Friday morning to avoid the irony of people stressing out to get to a meditation class! As part of Eventbrite’s Summer School, Emma Mills will be giving us an introduction to meditation, just what we need as we try to re-find our zen after the commuting experience from hell due to the tube strike. Friend Zone

When you get put in the ‘friend zone’, it’s normally a bad thing. Well that’s all about to change at this event! Krug & Chips: A Tom Sellers’ Story 

The traditional ‘chippy’ gets an upgrade this weekend thanks to the collaboration between Krug Champagne and Michelin star chef, Tom Sellers. Krug & Chips, hosted in the East Piazza at Covent Garden, offers a delicious menu that puts a posh twist on your normal chip shop experience. There’s a choice of dishes including monkfish in a curry-like sauce, a great tribute to a chip shop staple. If the food wasn’t enough, there is an ample supply of Krug Champagne, because what washes down fish and chips better than bubbles?

Bouncing Cats & Boom Boom Pups

Come on a journey with spoken word artist Maxwell Golden and graffiti artist Mr Dane into the world of AnimaLand where beat box, rap and graffiti come together. Bouncing Cats and Boom Boom Pups is an outdoor, immersive and fun-packed adventure for children and their families, set within a graffiti maze that brings to life an original children’s story interwoven with freestyle hip-hop and jungle breakbeats. Audiences become part of the show with beat boxing and participation.

HMS ST ALBANS Ship Tour

Battle stations! Man the guns! Torpedoes at the ready! Okay we might be going OVERBOARD with the nautical commands there (sorry couldn’t resist) but this is a great opportunity to take a tour of HMS St Albans, a working naval vessel. I’m sure many kids used to play battleships in the bath, so imagine the excitement of now being able to walk around one! You’ll have the opportunity to explore the upper deck and see some of the equipment used onboard, weapons systems, and an opportunity to speak with members of the ship’s company.  All aboard!

Shabby Chic Furniture Workshop

Let’s face it, furniture is expensive! Head to a boot sale, charity shop, market (anywhere!) and bring it along to Goldfinger Factory’s shabby chic workshop. Goldfinger Factory is an up-cycling production and learning hub, which strives to inspire one of London’s most diverse communities through the creative reuse and recycling of furniture. Learn how to transform a piece of furniture into a multicoloured masterpiece, inspired by the colour palette of artist Mondrian, who combined black, white and the three primary colours to create his iconic paintings.

The Great Contiki Challenge

The Great Contiki Challenge is a free scavenger hunt taking you around some of London’s most loved, quirky & secretive sights. Your carefully selected team will compete against other teams to rack up as many points as you can over the course of one adventure-packed afternoon. Clues will have you poking into nooks and crannies of London that you didn’t even know existed, and if you do it right, you’ll snap up loads of free stuff on your way. If you’ve ever walked down Fleet Street, you may have noticed Punch Tavern, or more importantly the sign outside stating the amount of different gins they have in stock inside! Urban Art 2015

If you love art, you need to head to Urban Art 2015 this weekend. With over 200 exhibitors this is a great opportunity to buy work direct from a wide range of artists and discover a wealth of creative skills, including painting, print making, mixed media and photography. If that’s not enough, you’ll get to see some of the UK’s top graffiti artists creating live work on giant white walls and shipping containers. There’s a great vibe, amazing art, let’s just hope we get the weather too!

Kitten Killers

Kitten Killers by name, award winning and nominated comedy sketch group by nature (and no, they do not kill kittens!) Kitten Killers are heading to the Cavendish Arms to perform their 2015 Edinburgh Preview this weekend, so if you can’t be bothered to make it all the way up to Edinburgh, this is probably your best bet! If you’re looking for a laugh this Sunday to forget about work tomorrow, you need to head here! It’s new, it’s exciting and it’s FREE! Expect unicorns, epic tunes and some extremely suspicious wigs.
