Live Patient, Provider, and Caregiver Connection: Prevention and Control of Meningococcal Disease - Individualizing Vaccine Recommendations in Adolescent Populations 2023 Arlington, USA
Meningococcal disease onset is usually sudden and may progress to severe disease within 15–24 hours. Symptoms are variable and often difficult to distinguish from other illnesses, especially during early stages. Patients may present with fever, sudden headache, neck stiffness, rash, nausea and/or vomiting, sensitivity to light, and altered mental status. In this program, expert faculty will review the guideline recommendations for the prevention of meningococcal disease in adolescents, and strategies to increase the uptake of meningococcal vaccine in this patient population.
