Successful Crypto Valley Conference on Blockchain Technology (IEEE)
The first Crypto Valley Conference on Blockchain Technology attracted over 1000 participants, among them Federal Councillor Johann Schneider-Ammann.
The first Crypto Valley Conference on Blockchain Technology (CVC) was held at the Theater Casino Zug and on the School of Information Technology campus from 20 to 22 June. The conference is a hybrid, including a business and academic track. In addition to this, it is the first Blockchain conference accredited by IEEE and IEEE Computer Society.
Over 1000 participants from Switzerland and abroad attended lectures held by some 40 speakers from the business track as well as over 50 research expert presentations. In addition, 14 satellite events were held in the run-up to the conference.
In his opening speech, Federal Councillor Johan Schneider-Ammann underlined the urgency to Switzerland’s following other nations’ example by advancing a strong blockchain ecosystem. Other highlights included lectures by Stefan Thomas, current CTO of US blockchain company Ripple, and by Professor Emin Gün Sirer PhD, Co-Director of the “Initiative for Cryptocurrencies and Smart Contracts” at Cornell University, USA.
The organizing committee, directed by Alexander Denzler PhD of the School of Information Technology, is pleased to declare the conference a success and is looking forward to hosting it in 2023.
