About Protocol Labs
Protocol Labs drives breakthroughs in computing to push humanity forward. Protocol Labs is a product-development lab, but behind the protocols and tools we build, behind the research and implementations, are passionate people, teammates, and community members. Most teams in the Protocol Labs Network are fully distributed and work remotely around the world. Engineers, researchers, and operators work in the open to improve the internet — humanity’s most important technology — as we explore new advances at the intersection of many exciting fields (web3, cryptography, networks, distributed systems) and cultures (startups, research, open-source, distributed work).
Key Summary:
As a Technical Content Strategist, you will work in a cross-functional team collaborating with stakeholders from research, economics, marketing, design, sales, and beyond to understand the cryptoeconomic landscape and communicate that with clarity to the world.
Content creation, blogs and articles, technical papers
Working with technical and research staff on CEL to distill and publish research findings
Social media management - drafting posts, scheduling posts
Community engagement
Marketing, branding, design, positioning, strategy
About the CryptoEconLab Team
CryptoEconLab at PL aspires to become a hub for research on economic incentives, coordination games, and novel marketplaces. As an interdisciplinary study, cryptoeconomics involves a constellation of knowledge including computer science, network science, statistics, economics, and system engineering. In an increasingly networked and open world, cryptoeconomics will play a bigger role in coordinating human and machine activities and building a better future.
Our team strives to empower projects and you will be a key growth hire to lead our community engagement efforts.
As Content Strategist, you will become one of the voices of the CryptoEconLab and an evangelist for the products, mechanisms and economic designs that benefit the Protocol Labs community. Your work will educate many users and developers, and will help the Protocol Labs community grow rapidly.
As Cryptoeconomic Content Strategist at Protocol Labs, you will…
Independently gather information from subject matter experts, feature requirement documents, case studies, social content, user stories, and specifications, to develop and write user guides and other technical content
Interact with a global cryptoeconomic research team to showcase their expertise to the broader Web3 community
Work with CryptoEconLab leadership on strategic partnerships, events and content
Collaborate on and review documentation
Build documentation with static site generators
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
Flawless English language skills: demonstrably excellent communicator
Experience in improving research documentation and social content
Examples of your technical writing on public URLs (or a comprehensive portfolio)
Self-organized and autonomous when required; while adept at building relationships within other cross-functional teams (remotely)
Master at quickly grasping complex technical concepts and making them easily understandable
Demonstrate an ability to author documentation in Github or related sites
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
Bonus points:
Experience in receiving feedback and giving other writers feedback on their work
You’re crypto-native: immersed in crypto culture, and aware of the prevailing personalities, memes, and major narratives and projects
You’ve been writing about crypto for at least a year and can write about technical topics like protocol economic design in a clear and engaging manner
An understanding of CSS/HTML
Experience with a wide range of technical writing for example, user guides, help articles, high-level overviews, API documentation, knowledge base documentation, UX microcontent
Technical background
A passion and love for trying new food
What’s it like to work at Protocol Labs?
Protocol Labs’ mission is to improve humanity’s most important technology, the Internet. We build protocols, systems, and tools to improve how it works. Today, we are focused on how we store, locate, and move information. Our projects include IPFS, Filecoin, libp2p, and more.
As a distributed team, we hire anywhere in the world, and at various levels of experience (entry, senior, staff). We look for people with unique perspectives and diverse backgrounds.
We have a great benefits package, including parental leave, contributions to your retirement, competitive pay, and unlimited time off. For U.S.-based employees, we also provide platinum-level health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your family.
If you’re passionate about the future of computing and a more democratized internet, we want to talk to you.
