The Role

We are looking for a Senior Solidity Engineer to join our core team. Your work will include the design, implementation, and deployment of critical infrastructure powering the Monad blockchain.

You will contribute to development of major projects with a smart contract component, such as bridges, order books, staking, and NFT minting services.
You'll contribute to design, development, testing, and deployment of these new features. You'll make critical decisions on security and maintainability. Your work will power components with billions of dollars of TVL; as such, you'll need to maintain exceptional focus in defining invariants and defending against attacks.
You'll also contribute to design and development of new VM features that enable developers to build more powerful dapps. The smart contracts you develop will serve as initial use cases for new features that we are pioneering in the Monad VM, which supports and extends the EVM.

Requirements

Required prior experience:
3+ years of smart contract development including production deployments of original protocols
Extensive knowledge of Solidity and the EVM
Extensive knowledge of smart contract security and common pitfalls (e.g. you understand the cause of all historical reentrancy attacks and other vulnerabilities)
Extensive experience with proper deployment and security practices
Experience writing extensive unit and integration tests

Salary and benefits

The Role

After a strict focus on developing our core technology, the Monad blockchain is quickly approaching its Testnet v0 release. Ahead of that launch, we are excited to welcome a first Growth hire. Because of the nature of our technological offering, Monad has the potential to grow into one of the biggest projects in crypto—your job will be to help it get there. You will work directly with our CEO to devise and execute on strategies that build our presence among developers and crypto-native users.

You will need to be scrappy in tackling the many challenges facing an early-stage project, and strategic in identifying what initiatives or improvements to prioritize. You'll need to be both creative and data-driven. We are looking for someone who loves crypto, is creative, is ambitious, is organized, and has substantial experience with growing a crypto project.

Required:

You have 2 or more years of experience in growth/marketing for a crypto project, where you've meaningfully grown the userbase with clear KPIs
You are passionate about crypto. You have excellent knowledge of the crypto ecosystem (major projects and what they do, as well as major narratives and personalities on CT)
You excel at product marketing fundamentals: positioning, messaging, launch management, and sales enablement. You can demonstrate this through the interview process with specific examples, details, and outcomes

The Role

As Research Writer, you will become the voice of Monad Labs and an evangelist for the Monad blockchain. Your work will educate many users and developers, and will help Monad's community grow rapidly.

This role is on the critical path of Monad's growth.

Requirements
Prior experience/skills:

Excellent knowledge of major crypto protocols, especially L1s and L2s (e.g. consensus mechanisms, economic security design, interoperability). Some examples of topics you should know well: PoW in Bitcoin, PoS in Ethereum, tendermint, IBC, MEV, PBS, and others.
You've written about technical crypto topics in a clear and engaging manner
You're crypto-native: you're immersed in crypto culture, and aware of the prevailing personalities, memes, and major narratives and projects

About the Job
We are looking for a senior software engineer with advanced Solidity experience to join the core contributor team to build this novel DeFi primitive. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing smart contracts for the next generation of Panoptic, the first defi-native options protocol on the Ethereum blockchain.

*Responsibilities*

Lead the Solidity Smart Contract code developments as an early engineer
Work with auditors and implement in iterations their suggestions and handle any redesign requirements
Implement Panoptic V2 smart contracts and tests
Adapt and deploy smart contracts to EVM-based blockchains (L2s and alternative L1s)

*Requirements*

- 5+ years of general software development experience (and/or a strong software education - with at least 3+ years of active development).
- 3+ years of experience writing, testing, deploying and verifying Solidity applications.
- Served in a capacity at a tech lead level before.
- Build applications that adhere to the latest security best-practices.
- Be inherently motivated and excited to build and scale crypto products.
- Have extensive knowledge of the Hardhat/Foundry testing environments: gorking mainnet state, impersonating accounts, writing custom scripts, etc.
- Have deep insights into gas cost optimization, how Ethereum stores state and data structures in the EVM, opcodes, variable mapping to storage slots, etc.
- Be well versed in thorough code testing principles using eslint, cross-browser testing, acceptance testing, and you can help perform general QA testing, etc.
- You are familiar with Git, Deployment Pipelines, and general best practices.
- Write extensive comments, documentation, design flow diagrams, and review PRs
- Collaborate with the Frontend team to deploy the application

*Nice to have*

- Familiarity with going through Auditing processes end-to-end and/or you have/are yourself an auditor.
- Prior experience developing Decentralized Finance applications
- Experience implementing complex math in Solidity/YUL
- Understanding of zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKS, Groth16) and prior experience writing circuit code.
