    The role, at a glance:

This is a technical sales position that teaches end users, consultants, and integrators all design and performance attributes of our products and technology in a pre-sale capacity. When we do that well, the client gets the right Biamp system. The Field Sales Engineer also provides tips, tricks, and helpful examples to the trained installation team for the AV integrator that results in integrators doing their projects more profitably. Work in conjunction with Biamp sales managers as the key technical advisor and product advocate.

Develop relationships with client decision-makers and technical staff after being introduced by our sales managers. Act as the technical resource for pre-sales design evaluation and support.

Explain and demonstrate the technological aspects of the product being marketed. Training in the field at integrators, consultants, and end-users on all aspects of Biamp’s equipment, its functions and its uses.

Drive the sales process through all phases requiring technical or design decisions. Fully explain to clients how a Biamp solution solves their issues. Help increase Biamp market share by providing world-class technical expertise on every project.

Take training on sales techniques and skills on an ongoing basis.

Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.

Give and prepare technical presentations direct to manufacture’s representatives, consultants, key end-users, MEP firms and architects in Western United States. Develop and deliver product demonstrations as needed.

Primary technical resource for the field sales force in the Western United States.

Report client feedback on technical matters to Biamp leadership. Identify and report any areas that could be improved upon for increased customer satisfaction.

Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

The successful candidate will possess the following :-

Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required, or several years of experience in a related position.
Comprehensive knowledge of sound systems and the architectural acoustic principals surrounding sound propagation. A thorough understanding of the decibel, SPL weighting curves, noise criteria, sound absorption, inverse square law, and the human auditory system.

Extensive computer AV networking design and support experience .

A verifiable history of success in technical sales in a channel partner environment.

Experience in the professional AV industry including contacts with integrators, consultants, and end-users.

Ability to build long-term relationships with Biamp clients.

    Strong teamwork skills.

Strong technical presentation skills, and the ability to address a wide range of business and technical people, from company presidents to non-technical staff.

Self-motivated to enable efficient work in a location remote from the company’s headquarters.

Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (including advanced PowerPoint abilities) and CAD programs (Bluebeam Revu / Visio / AutoCAD LT).

Comprehensive general technical audio system knowledge including distributed audio systems.

Previous in-depth knowledge of sound masking systems, enterprise level paging applications including life safety, and DSP based audio system integration is preferred.
