- It is co-created by Christian Etter and Alexander E. Bruner.
The blockchain and cryptocurrency organization, Cardano Foundation, announced the launch of Etter Edition 01, “a hybrid physical and NFT generative art project,” co-created by Christian Etter and Alexander E. Brunner.
The blockchain tweeted about the facilitation of the launch of Etter Edition 01 on the official Twitter account of the Cardano Foundation:
Contextually, the art project, Etter Edition 01, was minted by the Swiss-based Web3 infrastructure provider NMKR and is redeemable as “physical pieces of art on the Cardano blockchain.”
The internationally acclaimed artist and designer, Christian Etter, claimed that the project shows the benefits that can be brought to the world by decentralization. He exclaimed that he was surprised at seeing how art could be revolutionized through technology. While discussing the Etter Edition 01 project, Etter mentioned,
This limited series of the artwork shows the enormous benefits that decentralization can bring to the creative world. Through this project, I’ve become truly awed by how art can be revolutionized and enhanced through technology. After many months of studying, prototyping, and developing new algorithms and hardware for this project, my eyes are truly open to the possibilities.
Interestingly, the decentralized algorithm inside the art piece changes the painting over time, unifying the specific qualities of the physical and digital space. Hence, the buyer would be secured with the ownership of the artwork and the authenticity of the algorithm.
Additionally, when the project makes its physical appearance, it would exhibit the “same generative motion graphics” that the digital NFT displays on the blockchain. Etter Edition 01 highlights the Cardano blockchain’s capability to create NFTs with its advanced metadata features.
Alexander Brunner, the co-creator of the project, who was a former Member of the Parliament of Zurich and advisor to the Swiss Government, commented that the project showcased the wide range of projects stemming from the Swiss Crypto Valley. Furthermore, Etter emphasized that the project would capture the “imagination of the public” and “inspire others to participate and even lead in this growing ecosystem.”
