• The $COAST token will be at the heart of the nautical system that SeaCoast is developing.
  • Users can earn rewards in $COAST by sharing useful and crucial information regarding the coastlines.

Earlier this week on Tuesday, October 25, maritime startup SeaCoast announced its public token sale by kickstarting its Initial Coin Offering (ICO). SeaCoast leverages Web3 technology to pioneer new ways of exploring several waterways across the globe.

As said, the public token sale commenced a few days ago allowing investors to buy their native crypto $COAST tokens. The $COAST token will be at the heart of the nautical system that SeaCoast is developing pioneered around aggregated data of waterways and inlets. Using the $COAST tokens, explorers will be able to access rich and up-to-date information enhancing their interactions with several local touchpoints.

To revolutionize the way in which people interact with global coastlines, SeaCoast is harnessing Web3 technologies including blockchain and tokenization. To support its mission, SeaCoast has also launched a trifecta of applications: ShoreView, PortView, and PaperBoat.

These apps unlock new ways of interacting with coastal resources. Sailors and ramblers, and anyone who interacts with the world’s waterways, including coastlines, canals, and harbors, can contribute to these apps. In return, SeaCoast will reward them for their valuable data supply.

The $COAST token will align with the incentives between participants. It will also accelerate the Augmented Reality feature that SeaCoast is building.

Understanding how SeaCoast apps work

The ShoreView app from SeaCoast will work as a virtual assistant and will facilitate coastal navigation using augmented reality. In real-time, the app displays what the user can see as well as what is visible to the naked eye.

The PortView app will also leverage augmented reality and facilitate mooring boats and audio assistance. SeaCoast said that this app will be equivalent to Google Maps’ “how to get there” function. It will help in assisting with accidents that occur with rented boats at the point of mooring.

The third application PaperBoat will work as a mooring reservation manager and serves as the Booking.com of sailing. Jose Manuel Arnaiz, CEO of the company and founder of Jazztel, DigiMobil, and a dozen of other companies said:

We do not think of tokens as a possibility to capture resources, but as a way from which we can promote some services and boost the recurrence of users on the platform.

As said, SeaCoast will reward users with $COAST tokens for sharing useful information on the coastlines. Users can earn these tokens by sharing geo-referenced elements that will appear on augmented reality apps with other users. The more the users share useful information, the more rewards they will earn in $COAST.
